The old SABS 1005 standard was created over 30 years ago and is only a basic guideline, not a guarantee of quality.
Giant Beds are made to European standards, which are at least 20% higher than the old SABS requirements and are internationally recognised for their quality.
Every bed is backed by a factory replacement warranty, giving you peace of mind. We stand behind our products because we know they are built to last.
What Makes One Bed Better Than Another?
All our spring beds use the same Bonnell spring unit, one of the most widely used spring systems in the world. The difference between our beds lies in the comfort layers above the springs.
Better comfort layers provide:
- Greater comfort – A softer, more comfortable sleeping surface.
- Better body support – The bed molds to your body instead of forcing your body to fit the bed.
- Longer-lasting performance – The bed keeps its comfort and support for many years.
The higher the quality and thickness of the comfort layers, the better your weight is distributed across the mattress, improving comfort, support, and durability.
Foam, pocket spring, and memory foam beds work differently. In these beds, the entire mattress works together to provide comfort and support, rather than relying mainly on the spring unit with comfort layers on top.

Can I exchange my mattress?
For hygiene reasons, mattresses cannot be returned or exchanged once delivered and used.
We strongly recommend choosing carefully and discussing your needs with us before purchasing.
All warranties and guarantees are factory-backed and apply to manufacturing defects only.
Do you have XL sizes?
Yes, we offer XL options in selected ranges.
XL mattresses are longer than standard sizes and are ideal for taller individuals or hospitality use.
Please enquire for availability in your preferred range.
Is the mattress turnable?
Some of our mattresses are double-sided (turnable), while others are not.
Product specifications clearly indicate whether a mattress is turnable.
We will explain the correct care instructions at purchase.
Do you offer lay-bye?
Yes, we offer lay-bye.
A deposit is required to secure your order.
Goods will only be released once fully paid.
